2 Cups of Water
2 Cups of Whole Milk
6 Fresh Cardamon Pods
Approximately one inch of a thick Lemongrass Stalk
1/2 Inch of thick Ginger Root (can add more to taste preferences)
I tsp per cup of chai – Heavy Whipping Cream (at the end)
2 Tsp Black Assam Tea
Pour water into saucepan.
Grate lemongrass and ginger into the water.
Crack open cardamom pods and place in the water.
Boil water and once it is in full boil add 2tsp of Assam Tea.
After 30 seconds add 2 cups of milk.
Bring it to a boil three times… essentially you bring it a boil, then take it off of the heat and allow it to quickly settle and repeat… do this three times.
Strain the tea through a strainer equally into 4 cups.
Add 1 tsp of heavy whipping cream into each serving.
Sweeten as desired.
